This evening I traded my 2011 Macbook Pro 15" 2.2Ghz 750Gb HD for a 2011 Macbook Pro 17" 2.3Ghz 256Gb SSD at the Apple Store. They didnt have my Custom to Order specs on hand so I had to order it online from the Apple Store. Are the CTOs being shipped pre-loaded with OS X Lion?

If that's the case, can I use Bootcamp and load Snow Leopard on a partition as one of the boot up options?

Thanks!
Darren

It will more than likely have Lion pre-installed. I ordered a CTO Macbook Pro two weeks ago and it came with Lion.

your upgrading from that to that
let me know how the performance is with that 256GB SSD

Yes, from the 15" to 17" 2.3Ghz and 256Gb SSD. I'm using a 256Gb SSD on my iMac. I didnt want to hassle with the problems that OP are having using a 3rd party SSD and TRIMs arguments. I will just stick with the OEM SSDs.
