2011 MacBook Pro after disabling dGPU

Following the excellent advice here and on apple.stackexchange I have been able to disable via software (moving the single offending kext and the nvram command sequence) the discrete GPU on my 2011 MacBook Pro.

For people that have done this, how long has it been and how has your Mac been performing since the fix?
