I've got a 2011 Macbook Pro with 2.2 GHz i7, 4GB ram, and AMD Radeon HD 6750M video card and am using a Minidisplay port to DVI adapter to connect to my Samsung 2494 external display. Everything was working great for a few months and I was able to freely connect my computer to the monitor and use it as a display. About a week ago out of the blue it just stopped working. When I connect the adapter the Macbook Pro recognizes that a display is connected (in the display preferences the correct monitor is detected) but the monitor does not recognize that the Macbook Pro is connected and just flashes 'digital/analog' until the screen goes blank. I do not understand why this once worked and all of a sudden has stopped working. As soon as I am able to, I will try connecting another computer to the monitor and also try to connect my Macbook Pro to another display, but in the meantime I would like some advice on more ways to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.
Thanks!
