I recently got a macbook pro 15" 2.0GHz less than a week ago. I have been doing some pretty light work with it and messing around with geektool, but yesterday I created a new admin account and use my old account as a standard user. Pretty much straight after I did that the screen started to display a strange pattern, where there was shadow or any gradient in colour, areas of green pixels would be highlighted.

Then I logged out and back in again and the maximum resolution was 1152x720 while still displaying the green pixels.

I made a genius appointment and turned it off, then later turned it on again and the problem had gone.

Has anyone come across this before. I have already installed gfxcardstatus as well. I have not backed up yet as it is so new.

I took a snapshot of the desktop and emailed it to myself, there was no sign of the green area (just to confirm it wasnt a software issue).
