I have a 2011 macbook pro with the 2.3 ghz processor and the 500gb 7200rpm hard drive. When you pick up the computer when it is turned on or off and move it or shake it there is a clicking noise. The noise is coming from the top of the computer near the power on button. Would anyone know what this is an if I should worry about it.

Thanks

This is the hard drive parking the head and is nothing to worry about. That noise is worse on different computers but use to drive me nuts until I changed all my Macs to SSDs which are of course silent.

But the HDD is not located near the power button and is normally turned off when the Mac is turned off, so it shan't be the Sudden Motion Sensor.
