Hi,

I've never had any problem with my 13", the fans usually idle at 2000rpm, lately however they have jumped up to 4000rpm at idle.

Has anyone else had this problem?

:/

Check activity monitor as mine idle around 2000 rpm while browsing the internet. You might have some CPU intensive tasks running in the background.

Has to be something running. 4000 is definitely not normal under idle. Mine doesn't hit 4000 unless watching 1080p on youtube or such. And even then it only lasts for a bit to get the temp down. I usually don't notice the fans spin up.

Did you select "All Processes" in Activity Monitor?

ah yeah, i forgot about that. coreservicesd is gobbling up ~99% of the CPU.
any ideas?

yeah, i know. it usually doesn't bounce up to that unless i'm using Skype or playing TF2.
