My audio is not working, I have searched here and tried many things:
I have tried
-killing the audio process via Terminal
-inserting/removing headphones into the headphone jack
-running apple hardware test - it found no issues
-resetting PRAM and SMC
- re-seating the audio cables inside the computer

The computer is not under warranty and I am hoping it isn't a major hardware issue. I can set the audio level in Settings and using the keyboard, but still no sound from Settings, itunes, or any other location.

I hope someone can help. Thank you!

Internal speakers, headphones, or both? You mention that you reset PRAM; did you get the chime then, or nothing?

Both headphones and speakers. I heard no chime when resetting the PRAM, but on Yosemite I have never heard a chime after PRAM reset even when speakers were working
