Hi, I've been reading up on this for a bit, and I'd like some help in the right direction. I bought a few 2011 mbp's in an as-is lot. I finally have one fully up and running, (it's an i5) but it has an issue with the backlight. I've been reading that it can be the driver or fuse on the board that can be the issue, however I couldn't find no material on how to locate either or for the 2011 mbp.

I had replaced the lvds cable and even went as far as trying several different screens so far. I actually was able to install osx with the backlight out :D . I'm pretty stumped on what else I can do,

I do have a bit of experiance with smd work, but most of the equipment I used were from previous jobs right now I'm armed with a 6o watt soldering iron and occasionally a hot air rework smd gun. I'm looking to pick up a hakko soldering iron and a better magnifier than what I have. I'll take any suggestion on equipment I should buy and need for working on this mbp.
