Hi guys,

My battery doesn't work at all, after removing the power supply Mac gets switched off straight away. I'm googling around and found one on eBay:

"AUTHENTIC New Rechargeable Battery for MacBook Pro 15 inch screen In film and box Only installed ONCE and fully charged Then removed and not used again."

Is this battery any good? Will it work as a new one?

Present the link in order for us to VERIFY, as the battery in 2011 MBPs is not meant to be user replaceable (though it can be done) and Apple offers a replacement service.

As for the already present battery, go to Applications / Utilities / System Information (System Profiler on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and lower) > Hardware > Power and make a screenshot and attach it to your next post.

Thanks. That is a lot of cycles for two years, and as the battery seems to be down to less than 10% of its original capacity, it is more than shot.

If you have an Apple Store or Apple Affiliate near by, take it in, as the battery should last for 1000 cycles before dropping to less than 80% of its original capacity. Maybe they replace it for free.

As for the battery you talked about, that link will provide helpful, if the Apple Store will not help you.
