I've received my 2011 mbp 17 recently. Here's what I've found in default icc profile:
manufacturer : 0610
model : 9CCD

Any idea about the details of this screen panel? Thanks.

It's LG's.

9CCD - Glossy version of LG panel
9CCE - AntiGlare Version of LG panel.

9CDO and other - Samsung's.

I've used the Macbook Pro 17' with 9CCD Panel for several months and never able to find a decent colour profile for this panel.

Maybe you can try to rent a LCD calibrator from a local camera equip. store for a couple of days.

9CCE icc profile

9CCE native white point srgb x-rite eye one.
When calibrating a white led lcd my experience is use the native white point.
Goog profile for skin tones on web or printing in the srgb color space.
May also work with 9CCD (glossy version same lg panel) but have not tested.
attached file, 9CCE.icc.doc, rename to 9CCE.icc

Thanks for this!

ICC Profile

Thanks so much for this. I've had a v disappointing time trying to calibrate a new 17 MacBook while overseas without my gear. This works for me!

That is the one I use. It might be a bit too warm at lower birghtness but it does a really good job for gettina panel that is really easy and comfortable on the eyes.

I don't have my own calibration hardware but subjectively it is very natural.
I use it on a 9CB7 15" HRAG panel.

The 9CB7 screen is perfect, I had it on another MBP but this new A005 display does not look good with any profile I've found or any calibrations I've done on my own. And this is the third A005 display I've tried which means it's not a single screen issue :(

I've said it before but I'll say it again: posting profiles is utterly pointless. Actually, beyond pointless. No two LCD panels are alike. Variances are great. You'll have a much more color-inaccurate image with someone else's ICC profile than just by leaving it stock! There's a reason colorimeters exist.
