Hey all. When I purchased this machine, 2.2ghz i7, 4gb ddr3 etc, it ran great for ally my uses, games, digital design, etc. Now, using Safari and listening to iTunes impossible. I'm updated to current software, I'm running Snow Leopard.

I've used Onyx for maintenance, Memory clean, with no luck. This machine is running like a dog. Constant freezes...

What can I do to solve this? Are there any other maintenance I can run to clean things up? It's getting to the point where I just want to sell the machine and get something new.

Thanks.

Disk Utility > Verify Disk

Attempted.

Tells me to reboot and repair disk in Disk Utility. Once rebooted and click repair, gives me error telling me to backup my files and reformat. So I try to boot back into OS X and I get a loading bar then the machine turns off.

What do I do now?

Sounds like your hard drive is toast. Hopefully you'll be able to recover your files.

If I press option while it is rebooting I am able to go into windows or disk utility again, just it won't load back into os x.

As mentioned, you're HD is most likely hosed and needs to be replaced.

Good thing you have been making regular backups.
