Well got my MBP finally (thanks Will) and am loving it. Today I got round to nicking the 120GB Vertex2 from my PC an dropping it into the MBP (she is a 13" 2.7 i7 one).
The migration from SSD to HDD for the PC was a royal PITA (windows image == no good as recovery disk refused to even consider it). had to Acronis clone the SSD onto the WD HDD but at least it all works now.
Putting the SSD in the mbp was easy peasy and with the help of the guts of an old seagate external (I only kept the logic board from it as it has bus powered FW800); carbon did its thing (with the spinning disky attached via FW800).
All booted and running very very snappy indeed !!!!
only had one odd thing during the process - my boot screen worked properly when I booted from the FW800 and then the 1st boot from the internal SSD. Afterwards its back to the screwy one (apparently bootxchanger does not work for logos on the 2011 models).
I really would like to know what thats about as those two boots it showed my black screen with colour apple, now its back to the black boot screen with grey apple
anyways just thought I'd share my happy and painless experience with everyone
(dunno about benching as I regard it mostly like kicking tyres on a new car)....
