After seeing the benchmarks I'm still undecisive wether purchasing the refurbished late 2011 i7 2.8 ghz with 4gb ram (6973 benchmark) or the new 2012 i5 2.5 ghz with 4gb ram(6690 benchmark), I'm guessing the new one because of the graphics and turbo boost plus the 1600Mhz ram.

But still undecisive, I need some opinions or thoughts, thank you :)!

I put 1600 ram in my 2011 and it helped the geek bench score. I think the main difference in geek bench is the ram speed and marginal clock speed increase and not the improvements in architecture. The 2012 will have much better graphics though, so it will be more future proof than the 2011.

please

post your about this mac screen showing u have installed 1600mhz RAM on a mbp 2011, I'm about to follow your steps but i need proof first:D

Included are about this mac and geekbench screenshots.
