2011 ssd in 2010 air 11 inch

I have yet to come to a straight forward answer on this or maybe I am just using the wrong strings to search but does anyone know if the Latest corei5/i7 2011 macbook air 256gb ssd (samsung preferred) will work on the previous core 2 duo macbook air (11 inch to be exact)
