20111 MBP all external drives are locked

Well going to need a little help here . Somehow or another after migration over and trying to set permissions on my OS drive I did something and not sure what but my Firewire 800 EXternal drives are all locked. I have a Drobo and it is Locked than a 2TB drive in 3 partitions and they are all locked. I went to get info on all of them and the permissions all say custom and not read and write. Tried several times to change them to the correct permissions and they will not take. I'm a photographer and that Drobo has my life on it and can't see it for anything I tried. I could really use some help. I read somewhere about using terminal but I want to be absolutely sure I got it all down correctly before I do something stupid again. Thanks for any help in advance. Guy
