what are the chances Apple will make a 14" mbp that has edge to edge pixels that makes it comparable in screen real estate to the 15", but close to the form factor of a 13"? thin the design down a bit and done.

Quite frankly, I can't see why not.

The 13" is certainly big enough to sport a 14" screen if they reduced the big ass bezel. Same for the 11" (sporting a 12" screen).

"sooooo, your saying there's a chance... yeah!"
all jokes aside, the more I think about it, the more it makes perfect sense. Maybe a 12", 14, & 16". Replacing the 11 and the 13" with the 12". The 15" now being the 14". Finally, the 17" getting replaced with the 16".
Anything lower than the 12" the iPad takes care of.

For the ever-so-common issue where 15" is WAY TOO ****ING BIG and 13" is WAY TOO ****ING SMALL...

;)

I really doubt someone is going to -not- purchase a laptop over a 0.7" difference.

I doubt we'll see one and I really don't want to see one.

I would personally like them to keep the 13" screen and reduce the laptop's footprint by reducing the bezel. Both the 13" MBA and MBP have a huge bezel for today's standards.

They could make that laptop 1" smaller while keeping the 13" screen in place if they managed to reduce the bezel.

There is no chance that they will release a 14 inch Macbook Pro, that is too small of a market, if they do that they will start to fragment like they did before Jobs came back.

there is a chance that 14" will be the new 13.3"

Its the new trend. It is preferred by many and the competition is upping their game to that size. HP has a 14" stuffed in their new 13.3" sized laptop.

The best thing is that they can up the resolution ! even more than the MBA 13.3"

I hope they do a 14"

A lot of people want Apple to move the MBP 13" from 1280x800 to a higher resolution. The issue I have is that the 13" MBA 1440x900 is too high of resolution for that size screen for me. The default text is just too small, besides being a lower quality screen than the 13" MBP.
So I'd be for a 14" with the 13" MBA resolution in the MBP 13" quality of display.

Apple are just about the only big laptop vendor still sticking with 16:10 screens in the Pro range. If they bump the res it would likely be 16:9 at 1366x768 which is even worse for vertical height.
