So, that happened.

I was planning on buying the new MacBook pro until the price came out and I realised I'd have to sell a kidney.

Now I'm looking at trading up from my mid-2012 15" MacBook Pro Retina. The 13" pro that came out last year seems like the one to go with but I'm a little worried having compared the specs.

Am I right in thinking the 13" 2015 MacBook Pro Retina might be a step down from the 15" mid-2012 MacBook Pro Retina in terms of performance? Has anyone got any real world experience?

What's up with these threads 15" rmbp vs 13" rmbp

Even a late 2011 MBP model is better than current 13" rMBP model.

If you want a newer model only because it's new...then go for 13" model but you give up a bigger screen, a powerfull CPU, more ports, MAGSAFE , more ports, new keyboard ( but this is subjective, it depends of prefference), more ports, backlit apple logo ( subjective too).
