I'm currently in the market to pick up a MacBook Pro, but the inability to have a dGPU on the base model was a big curve ball from Apple for me. I've looked at the specs comparing the 1 GB GT 650M and the Iris Pro graphics and the gaming screenshots look pretty similar. But can anyone attest to the real world usage between the two? Will I get about equal gaming performance with Iris Pro as I would on the last gen model with dedicated graphics? Are they both about the same performance for video production? Any information would be helpful! Thanks!

For gaming, GT 650m is much better (it's also overclocked out of the box).

If gaming really matters the most, go with 650m.

For OpenCL and similar tasks, Iris Pro should be faster.
