The trackpad on my 2012 i5 13'' cMBP started acting up recently. I have 16GB of OWC RAM in it as well as an OCZ Vertex 4 SSD in it. The trackpad was working fine and then suddenly cursor froze and began jumping all over the page I was viewing. A few seconds later it stopped but was slow to react to clicks and moving in general. I restarted the laptop and noticed that it was no longer slow to react but overly sensitive to inputs. Occasionally it will click when I have not clicked anything or will right click when I didn't.
I googled the issue and couldn't find solutions to my specific problem so I decided to try re-installing OSX 10.8 and seeing if that fixed the issue however after 30 minutes of use it begins again.

I didn't spill anything on it or drop it. I have also removed my ring in case that was causing interference. I've also cleaned the trackpad. But the issue remains.

Does anyone have a solution? I realize that I may need to bring it in for service but the closest Apple store is about 1.5 hrs away and if it's some sort of issue with software I'd rather fix it at home than drive.

Thanks
