2012 Mac Mini USB 3.0 enclosure

Hi Guys,


I am hoping to put the final nail into my usage of PC's, I have just got the new mid-level 2012 Mac Mini to use as a movie server for my Popcorn hour.

I just took delivery of a Sharkoon 8 bay enclosure, I plan on using it in JBOD/Clean mode, but to my horror, only 1 drive will light up and be recognised by OSX.

Can the USB 3.0 ports on the mini act as a port multiplier, this is the system I used with my pc and esata.

Any help will be great
Y appreciated, I would of loved to get some R4 Pegasus buti am not interested till they have a driverless option, and I think that the Drobo thunderbolt is over priced.

I just took delivery of a Sharkoon 8 bay enclosure

I have two Mediasonic ProBox 8 bays connected via USB3 to a Mac Mini and they read as 16 drives.

I am only getting the first 4 drives to work, drives 5-8 wont boot.

Any help is appreciated, its driving me nuts...
