Hi all,

I got a mid-2012 MBA 13(A1466) running latest Mojave 10.14.2.

Planning to upgrade SSD from 128G to 512G.

Is it possible I choose M.2 NVME, like Samsung 970 EVO ? Or I can only choose SATA SSD?

Appreciate for your feedback sharing with me.

PS: Macbook Air 5.2

The 2012 Air cannot use an NVMe drive. It supports only SATA drives, with the appropriate adapter.

Bumping this thread just to say that I have a Sintech adapter and a MX500 1TB in my 2012 Air. Works great for anyone looking to upgrade these old Air's. With Big Sur running and the improved R/W's this thing is running great.

I have a Transcend Jet Drive which slots right into my 2012 MBA without any need for an adapter. It also came with an external USB-3 case for the SSD I removed to do the upgrade. Been running the 480GB SSD since about 2014 without issue.

When I checked a few months ago, they were still available on Amazon.
