2012 Macbook Air 13" with 1.7GHz

I've been a lurker on the forums for a while. I couldn't find an answer to my question after searching on google. Anyways, I purchased a 2012 Macbook Air off of eBay. My friend vouches for the seller since he bought a Macbook air from them a year ago. I believed him after playing with his and was amazed at how cheap he got it for.

The 2012 MBA I purchased is the 13" model, but it has a 1.7GHz processor, and if I'm not wrong, I'm am 100% sure the 1.7GHz processor was only available in the 2012 11.6" model and 2011 13" Macbook airs (with the Sandy Bridge).

Looking at my Macbook that I received today, I can confirm that it is a 2012 MBA. But why is it clocked at 1.7GHz?

MacTracker says it shipped with a 1.8, you're correct. How else are you confirming that it was the 2012?

USB 3.0, 1600MHz Ram, thunderbolt port, MAGSAFE2. I know a lot about Mac's
Except, I'm confused how this is a 1.7GHz. This will be hard to explain when I resale a few years from now.

What model does System Information say it is?

Attatched a screenshot of the system spec. I am positive it is 2012, looked up the serial # and says it is mid 2012.

Haaah! I just messaged the seller and received a quick response regarding why the processor is clocked at 1.7GHz instead of 1.8GHz. The laptop she is selling is a "pre-release" model to be used possibly for internal and staff use only. It is indeed a 2012 model because of the MagSafe 2 charger. Apple bumped up the processor 100MHz because 2011 had the 1.7GHz and they didn't want the buyers thinking that the 2012 wasn't an improvement because of the same processor speeds. Nonetheless, I am very happy with my purchase, and I highly recommend this seller and Macbook Air to anybody that wants one. Cheapest price on eBay! Mine practically looks brand new, and it came with an original Apple MagSafe 2 charger!

I actually have this model also. I thought it was weird, but i got mine from amazon directly. strange.
