2012 Macbook air bad Mini display port

I have a 2012 Macbook air and the mini display port is not working.

Have no idea the problem is there a fix or workaround?

You could try a usb to DVI/hdmi if there are drivers for the adapter.

I was able to use a Thinkpad USB 3.0 dock with my late 2013 MacBook Pro 13".

Unfortunately, the mini DP port on the air is soldered to the main logic board.
