2012 MacBook Air screen flickering

My brother's 2012 MacBook Air screen has started to flicker after updating to Mavericks. I suggested that he reset his PRAM and SMC, but that has not solved the problem. Is there anything else he should be trying before taking it to an Apple Store?

I am experiencing the same thing since this morning. I have also recently installed OSX Mavericks. I tried calling technical support and we were on for 45 minutes and went through several booting procedures, up to safe boot, at which point my phone battery died. When I tried calling back several minutes later, I spoke to another person and finally decided to reserve an appointment with the genius bar because it was really going nowhere. I have it for Thursday evening, but if anyone figures anything out by then, that'd be great.

Restarting the Google Drive Application may fix the problem for you...
