I've been experiencing an odd issue with my 2.9GHz 2012 13" Macbook Pro, purchased last September. I've got a Boot Camp partition with Windows 7 64-bit installed. When I'm running Windows, the OS sometimes hangs for a random amount of time, and I hear a beep right before it unfreezes.
The way it freezes varies - sometimes it hangs for around five seconds, sometimes it's closer to half a minute. More often than not I'm able to still move my cursor while absolutely everything else is completely unresponsive, but there have been a couple of cases of the cursor refusing to move. The freezes always end with a beep coming out of the right speaker, and as soon as the sound stops, everything comes back to life again. I've verified that it's not the same beep as the "three beeps of death" that happens as a result of faulty RAM; it's a solid tone of a much lower pitch, and the duration is different every time, ranging from less than a second to three seconds or so. I can't really estimate how often I actually see this happening - it's so infrequent that it's just a bit of a concern, not a problem that seriously impacts my computer usage.
This is a problem I've only ever encountered while running Windows. I don't experience anything similar in OS X at all, although I do (very rarely) get a problem where my keyboard gets weirdly unresponsive and struggles to register keypresses for thirty seconds at a time - feel like it's worth mentioning in case it sounds like the two are at all connected to anyone reading this.
Cheers in advance for any ideas as to what this could be about.
