Hi Everyone, Extremely frustrated here..I have 2 machines:

I have a 2012 MBP a1278 and a 2011 MBP a1278.

I have replaced the trackpad on the 2012 because the cursor would not move .After replacing same problem exists- You can click from the trackpad but not move the cursor.

The 2011 will not see the internal keyboard and trackpad at all-only the power button works on the keyboard- I have turned bluetooth off.External keyboard and mouse work fine.

Both machines are running ML 10.8.5

Things I have tried on both machines:

-Reset SMC and PRAM
- Checked for updates
- Removed Library/system preferences.plist then restarted
- Put them to sleep then wake them up
- Cleaned contacts where cable connects to logic board and reseated in trackpad itself.

Help if you can, TIA ..

Edit, 2012 working after cleaning, onto the 2011

Merry Ho Ho everyone
