My mid 2012 power is not functioning, I replaced the 60w power cord, battery and mega safe DC-IN board, she fired up, and was retrieving data, while powering up a charge,
I walked away for a few minutes, 15 or so, came back to the unit, but she wouldn’t turn back on,
I’ve replaced parts with the help of You tube videos with no problems.
Two year ago I updated it with 16gb memory & a 2tb Hybrid SSHD, she worked fine, until the power issue,
I’ve done Research through the web, tech sities and reviews, it Now seems that, it needs a new logic board, which I’ve priced out at or under $300.00, I don’t have apple care,
Would Greatly Appreciate any advise or help, before I invest

Have you tried unplugging the battery from the logic board and just running it on the power adapter? If not see if you still have the same reoccurring symptoms, if so then I would say you have a possible logic board issue but see if everything is okay without the battery being plugged in first.
