Hi all.

GOOD NEWS;

I just purchased a 2012 13” MacBook Pro. I have a 2012 Mini that died so I figured I Could take 16 GIG of RAM and a 750 GIG SSD and replace the 4 GIG RAM ad 500 GIG hard drive in the MBP. Was easy and it works swell! Makes for a very zippy 7 year old laptop.

BAD NEWS;

I can't get on line. I'm getting this; “WiFi: no hardware installed”

Maybe I pinched or accidentally pulled a wire off when I did the upgrades? So I will open it up and do a close visual inspection. If I don't find any problems I would assume I need a new Bluetooth/WiFi card.

Any suggestions for the card? Compatible, fastest, etc.

Model # A1278 OH....My other computers get online fine.

Thanks.

Open it up again and check cabling and connections.

If you can't get the internal wifi running again, you might consider buying a USB wifi adapter and connect that way. Yes, it's clunky and uses up a USB port, but it may work when nothing else does.

And keep pickin' them banjos!

Thanks. I did open it yesterday, after watching the youtube DIY video for replacing the WiFi card, and found no visible issues. I'll check out the USB adapter. If that works I would think it's a hardware issue And at some poit I can replace the card. Thanks again.
