Is there any reason to believe that the MBP 17 will get a significant upgrade this year.

All the rumors ive seen talk about the 13 and 15 inch.

Im dying to replace my Late 2007 MBP 17, and this year might be the time.

The tangible rumors include an upgrade in the next 60 days or so. That upgrade will likely include 1) new design and 2) the latest Intel chips which will ideally consume less power. The current 2011 models include quad core CPU's which are at least twice as powerful as what you have so any upgrades might be more about design changes than a significant power boost.
