I'm impressed with what I've seen so far. I have not pushed the limits of my MBA on battery power as I have downloaded Mavericks last week but was sick and missed class. Though today, I tested what I call being a 'normal' user (which maybe be a tad on the heavier side).

Notes:
Specs:
  • 2012 MBA
  • i5
  • 8GB RAM
  • 128GB SSD
Applications:
  • Mail
  • Reminders
  • Messages
  • Knock
  • Calendar
  • Safari (3-5 tabs)
  • Dropbox
  • AirMouse Server
  • SystemPal
  • ColorMaker
  • Caffeine (not turned on)
  • Unclutter
  • Google Drive
Devices:

  • WiFi
  • Bluetooth (connected to iPhone)

Battery life - 7 hours 10 minutes.

I've even included a screen shot of how my battery health looks like. Funny how 24mAh change in 7hours and 10 minutes.

Anyways, I know it is not normal usage but for me, it is close to what I consider normal (the average Joe's normal). So yay, I'm getting exactly what I got in ML with the same setup (minus the Bluetooth and Knock). I think the main reason why I didn't get an hour or so more, is because of the Bluetooth. I am actually considering of getting rid of Knock. It is slower to user than typing my password as my hands naturally going to the home keys.

Anyways, I think I am going to test it on my heavy usage by adding the applications of Coda and Chrome (I use Chrome for web development and Safari for reading). Some Xcode usage will be included. Tabs will be increased to about 5-15 on either browser. I'll be doing two tests, one with Bluetooth + Knock and one without.

I'll be doing a 'normal' usage without the Bluetooth and Knock later this week as well (most likely next weekend).

Anyways, post your results if you want. Let's do some research ourselves to try to maximize our usage!
