So my wife spilled a glass of iced tea (with sugar) on her 13" MBA (2012 model). It powered down, and we took it into the Apple store. Looking at a possible $750 repair bill, and little chance of that working, and with work deadlines looming, we bought a replacement computer, and let the original sit for 2 weeks to thoroughly dry. After 2 weeks, I plugged in the magsafe power adapter and got a green light and the MBA immediately started to boot. The OS booted fine, screen looks great, trackpad is fine, keyboard is good (save for a slightly sticky left alt key). But, the battery will not hold a charge, and the status shows "replace now". Also, for some reason, the MBA turns on when I plug in the power adapter.

So, while things are looking better, I still have some work to do in order to restore this computer. Also, we don't want 2 computers, so I hope to recover at least some of the cost of the replacement by selling this computer (and I will clearly state what happened to the computer to any prospective buyer).

I took the computer apart, and using 99% Isopropyl alcohol, I cleaned all areas that looked to have seen any liquid. Also, I looked for the spill indicator dots. Most looked to still be white. I've included photos for reference. the only ones that might have turned red are on the SSD (if those are actually the spill indicator dots?)

Am I correct in assuming I will need to replace the battery? Any other things I should check on?
