2012 MBA takes longer to wake up from sleep.

I have a Macbook Air Mid 2012 and before when it ran Mavericks, it would be almost instantaneous to wake up from sleep and start typing on my password on login screen. In el capitan it seems like there some 3-4 second delay when i press the key to wake up my computer from sleep to typing my password on the login screen. Is this normal? Is there any way to make the wake up responsiveness the same as it was in Mavericks?
