2012 MBP DVD won't eject

Hi,

My 2012 MBP will not eject a DVD I put in it. It makes the noise to eject and the icon disappears from the desktop, but ends up not ejecting and it thinks that I just put the DVD so it starts up the movie.

This computer has had a hard drive problem, panel screw problem, and now this. It does not have applecare, unfortunately.
