With T-bolt what will the future hold for Firewire 800? Will it be phased out like FW 400? Does it take up so much room that Apple will ditch it to make the body thinner?

If so then 2010 wouldn't be able to use target disk mode with future machines without FW 800. And if 2011 t-bolt on MBP can't receive TDM then it too wouldn't be compatible.

thanks for any insights

If there would be a port dropped i guess it would be fw800 but i think they will keep it at a single tb port for now

I think they'll keep FireWire around for a few more years, no reason to remove it for the next re-design really.
