My daughter's 2012 MBP won't boot from either the original 500GB SATA hard drive or the upgraded 500GB SSD whenever either drive is installed in the laptop...
Luckily, I can start her machine and depress the Option key to be able to boot to the external USB drive (both drives, when installed in the OWC enclosure, work for the external boot) -- I can use the MBP from the external drive...
She has Yosemite 10.10.3 (on the SATA) and Yosemite 10.10.4 (on the SSD)...
When I open Disk Utility (on either drive) from the external drive, the hard drive doesn't appear....just the external drive and a grayed-out SuperDrive
Please help -- what do I look for? Hardware or software
