Mid 2012 MBP, according to Temperature Monitor, my computer is running about 10-15F hotter under Mountain Lion than it was with Lion. Nothing has changed. The only thing transferred over from my old install was my iTunes and iPhoto collection. Everything else was freshly installed.

Anyone having a similar experience? Or have any words of wisdom?

There are many possibilities. Spotlight could be indexing or processes are using more system resources. It may return to normal if you give it some time. I wouldn't worry about it, as your temps are still within the normal safe operating range.

This. I was having the same issues, and battery life was being sucked out. Waited for Spotlight to finish and just did a simple restart and it's back to it's old self.
