Okay, so here's my predicament: current PC is on its last legs, however I have an old iBook if the worst comes to the very worst. It's painfully slow by today's standards, but it can still handle most things I throw at it (Adobe CS6 is as heavy duty as it gets, I'm not a gamer, nor do I edit videos).

That said, I'll be looking to replace my desktop ASAP, so the big question is, which of the following should I buy:

1. 2012 MBP and hook that up to my existing 22" LCD.
2. One of the 'current' 2011 iMacs.
3. Sit with my fingers and toes crossed in the hope that Apple gives the iMac a spec bump in October?

Ultimately, I don't need portability, so the notion of shelling out for a MBP seems a little silly... however, when it comes to what's available from Apple *RIGHT NOW*, they seem to be a good option.

Any thoughts?
