I noticed that my mac mini has different stages of sleep. First sleep state is when the system's LED is pulsating slowly. I can simply press my keyboard to wake my mini. The sleep setting is in the Settings app, pretty clear.

Then there's the deep sleep (hibernate?) state. The mini's LED is completely off. I cannot wake the mini using my keyboard, and have to physically push the power button as if turning it on. But it then boots pretty fast akin to the sleep mode above. Now I don't see any settings for this anywhere. It's not a workflow breaker, but being a Windows user, I'm accustomed to have access to these kinds of settings from a user perspective.

Any tips/hints?

You can control the hibernation settings using the pmset command in the Terminal. I think you need to use sudo for making changes.
