Hello everyone. I'm looking to purchase the Non-Retina 15" MBP with the 1GB Video Card. I have a question in regard to the factory HDD that comes with it.

If I select the HDD to be the "750GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm", will I be able to move that HDD to the optical bay with a data doubler kit?

There are no specs on which exact model HDD the 750GB is, so I was wondering if anyone knew. I know there have been issues in the past with using a 6GB/s HDD in the optical bay slot, and I'm not even sure if the factory 750GB is in fact 6GB/s.

Thanks.

Yes. You will be able to. Internally, the 2012 non-Retina MacBook Pros have the same configuration as the 2011 models.

Thanks for the replies ya'll!

Just ordered my MBP! I originally ordered a Retina, but had a change of heart and went with the 2.6GHz Non-Retina MBP. I felt more comfortable overall ordering this model, plus I can upgrade in the HDD's and RAM in the future.
