Hi all,

I have a 2011 iMac, and I held off on upgrading my external drive until the Thunderbolt drives hit the market. But once the Lacie Little Big Disk came out, its price prompted me to put the matter on the back burner.

Has anyone heard any realistic rumors/projections about the 2012 Thunderbolt external drive market? I'd hate to ask the wife for a $450 Little Big Disk for Xmas (I'd rather ask for something more fun than a product that makes me say, "wow. look how fast that data is transferring.") only to have other drives that would meet my needs hit the market a couple months later at significantly cheaper prices.

I'm in the same boat. I have a 2011 MBP and I really need additional storage. I've been waiting for additional thunderbolt offerings. I'm seriously considering NAS as an alternative. With drive prices increasing though I'll probably wait until January, maybe February at the outside.
