Has anyone tried putting a 2012 Flash Stick from OWC (Other World Computing) into one of the new 2013 MacBook Airs?
OWC states that each new year the flash stick for the new Air is incompatible with the previous years, because the contact points may be different. But they don't have any for the 2013s yet.
It would also be very helpful to me if the 2012 and 2013 use the exact same sticks. I need to expand my memory soon, and I will need a more powerful air soon. But I can only afford one at a time. So I was thinking to get the flash stick, put it in this air. Then swap the flash sticks once I get my more powerful air. That is why it would be helpful to me if they were the same.
Not to mention that the MAY does not make this information sound very reliable. Maybe they they just say that since airs are not upgradeable so people, when they get a newer and better air, they will buy a whole new stick rather than just swap.
Any input. Has anyone done a successful swap from an older air to a newer one? Any info on this matter will be appreciated.
