My 2012 RMBP has done me well and never missed a beat since I bought it from new.

Just lately the machines been dropping wifi and also bluetooth connection to my keyboard and mouse. Ive tried a fresh install but still have the same problem so I'm thinking its down to a faulty airport card.

Am I correct in thinking I can replace the card in this model of machine? I believe its the first generation machine with Retina display.

Also this MBP doesn't support auto wake from my Apple Watch. If I was to buy a newer gen card from a later machine (13'14') would this be compatible?

Many thanks

I would just get is diagnosed at your local Apple Store to confirm its hardware since you've already done an erase and install. There's probably a way to use a differnt wireless card, but it wouldn't be supported by Apple and if you get it to work a future software update might break it.
