I had an LG screen until it was recently replaced with a Samsung piece due to some dead pixels that had developed. I never had any of the ghosting or IR issues that others did, so it's definitely not every single display.

Do you have image retention???
Hopefully you got a Samsung SSD too.....

I actually prefer the look of the LG panels versus the "yellow" Samsung ones.
Long story but I had both a Samsung and LG and picked the LG one.

I've only had my 15 rMBP LG panel for about 3 weeks and don't see any image retention. If it does develop that's what AppleCare is for.

I believe SJA2 is the "fixed" version that is not supposed to have the IR issue. Whether or not that's true I can't say, but that's what I determined from a search and from what I've already read here.

That's correct, the SJA2 has had very few if any IR issues reported since its release. OP you may have in fact just won the display lottery (considering all the complaints of yellow Samsung panels nowadays).
