So, I love my 2012 15" rMBP 2.3ghz to death... but it has been the DEATH of me... I have had the screen replaced... the logic board replaced and the top case / battery...

Now the SECOND battery replaced a little over a year ago is now showing SERVICE BATTERY.

Has anyone had luck having these replaced free? and if not free, has anyone gotten the awesome upgraded device since the parts are not available?

Curious what my options are.

"Curious what my options are."

Well, I'll reckon they are:
1. Replace the battery
or
2. Start shopping for a replacement.

same here.

first 2012 rmbp had very bad image retention, replaced with a second, was even worse, got a refund.

waited a few months. new 2012 rmbp, had bad IR also. they replaced the screen this time, finally better.

one year later, dead battery. replaced top case.

one year later, dead main board, got replaced free luckily.

since then it says 'service battery' again and sometimes drops 25% power spontaneously.

also weird crashes, sudden logouts and sudden maxed out fans combined with majorly throttled performance since the main board replacement.
