Hi,
I had this happening last week and now it has happened again.
Yesterday night I left home and closed the lid of my 2012 rMBP. Today, when I woke up, I wanted to turn it on and couldn't get out of a black screen. I had to hold the Power button for some time and then turn it on again in order for it to work... well, it turned on, asked for my password, logged in and, 2 seconds later, black screen again. I hit a key and it asked for my password again like it had just woken from sleep. I entered my password, it showed the desktop for 1 second and then, bam, black screen again. This time, when I tried to turn it on, it showed the battery icon like I had no battery. So, two problems here...
The MBP did not sleep at all and I don't know why.
Both of the times this happened, the battery showed 30% so all I can think of is that the battery is not calibrated. Apple says these come pre-calibrated and I don't know if there's a way for me to do it at home. Is there?
I tried SMC and PRAM reset when it happened last week and it seems to have solved nothing.
Also, I connected the Mag Safe, turned it on, it was showing 30% (just like before) so I disconnected it and it immediately showed 29% just to jump to 33%, to jump to 28% minutes later.
What should I do? Any idea? Last thing I wanted was to take it in because there are no Apple Stores in Portugal and I would have to leave it in the store for them to take a look and I don't know how much time that would take.
