I am planning to upgrade computers here within the next week or so. i currently own a 2012 15" retina MacBook Pro. My living situation as of now involves a lack of a television, and so I was thinking I might get a 27" imac, but I am not sure how it compares in power and speed to the new 2014 retina macbook pros. Which one is a better buy?

I'm in a very similar situation as I've sold my late 2013 MacBook Pro and want to get an iMac 27", kinda want to wait for the 2014 version though.

1. I'd highly recommend you go to the store and check out the iMac 27" screen first because you're going from Retina display to non-Retina. I know the iMac screen is very nice but I love the Retina Display but at the same time I want a desktop...

2. Which model are you looking at? Base model?

3. What do you do on your current MacBook Pro?

4. All iMacs uses hard drive, you might want to upgrade it to a Flash drive if you're coming from a Mac that uses flash storage

:)
