My rMBP's trackpad sounds about twice as loud as my gf's rMBP when I click it. It also lacks the solid feel. If I simply lightly tap the trackpad with 2 fingers (without pressing down), It makes a hollow / loose faint clicking noise and feels as if it touches something underneath.

Can this issue even be fixed? If I bring the rMBP to the Genius Bar, they'll probably have a hard time hearing the noise inside the store anyway, and would they even be able to make any adjustment if they can hear the noise?

fixable

my gf mid 2012 mbpr had the same issue, over time it went away. You just need to click function of the trackpad for ~1-2 months and it may go away.
