2013 Mac Pro security lock adapter junk?

I bought the new security lock adapter for my Mac Pro, but the fit is bad.

When I slide it on, it's very difficult to do so and I hear my computer being scratched. It's weird Apple didn't line the adapter with fabric or something.

It's also very hard to secure the computer cover to the base requiring even more force to press them together to fit the bolt in.

Anyone have these issues or is my adapter broken?

Sorry to wake a thread, but just to add same issue.

Lock itself is beautifully made, but weird apple didn't line it with a plastic or soft material since it scratches the mac pro up and is incredibly hard to get into place.

I'll be returning mine and seeking an alternative.
