Yesterday I updated the OS to the latest it wanted. All was fine. Done at least two reboots since then.
Today I noticed it didn't want to connect to one of my Apple Watches (for the unlock feature) so I restarted it. Bad move...
It came back telling wanting to reinstall the OS, however it failed with "opendirectoryd[186]: [auth] failed to write file <private>" error.
I reset the NVRAM but (and as I suspected) that was for shiggles only. Tried another reboot, same deal.
Fiddling around with things (not been at this stage of fun and games with OSX before) I found the option to boot from 10.13.3 and - Hmm, it's back.
So, I'm confused - just what the heebies happened here?
