2013 MacBook Air SSD dying

I've had some problems with my 2013 MBA's internal SSD lately and have confirmed (more or less) that it's about to die.

My warranty period is up. How does Apple handle this issue? 1 years warranty for storage is a ripoff.

I believe there was a recall on 2013 MBAs because of faulty SSDs.

If your MBA is covered by the recall then no need to worry about the warranty expiring.

I would take it to the Apple store and see what they will do. VERY dissapointing that a solid state drive not last more than a year. It should outlast the rest of the components!

Just an idea, but did you happen to buy it with a credit card? Some credit cards like the VISA card I have will double the warranty. So you pay for the repair then fill out a form and send it to VISA and they reimburse you. I know AMEX has the same thing.
